As an entrepreneur and business investor, Eric owned a 50% stake in an indoor family entertainment and restaurant business, opening a second location and expanding staff to over 100 employees. In the town where Eric previously resided in western PA, he first served as Borough Treasurer and was then twice elected as Borough Councilman, where he chaired the municipality’s Finance Committee overseeing taxes, budgeting, police and public service contracts, and benefits.
Over the years his other volunteer efforts have spanned a range of community organizations focused on education and mentoring in which he has also served in board leadership positions. He established a career planning-oriented youth mentoring program matching at-risk high school students with bank staff, and personally served as a mentor to a number of students over the years. Currently, he serves on the Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund’s Credit Committee in reviewing/approving small business loans to entrepreneurs. In addition to his work with SCORE, he remains active on the board of the English Skills Learning Center, named by the Governor as Utah’s Nonprofit of the Year, where he served two terms as Board President.
