Tenisha Hicks, Isha Esthetics, Next Step Graduate

Do you have poor financial control of your business or lack of profit? Struggling with brand identity? Maybe having difficulty recruiting or retaining employees? The Next Step program is for you.

Program Description

WBCUtah’s Next Step program is a 9-week, project-based cohort program, designed to help women business owners organize and strengthen their business operations and financial control. The program features a peer group within weekly deep dive lessons, guest experts, regular debriefs, applicable project assignments, online prep work and an individual mentor. Through a learning and action-oriented environment, participants learn how to master principles, fine-tune management skills, apply best practices, create and utilize valuable company documents and implement internal processes that can enhance the long-term sustainability and resiliency of their business.

Group lessons are held virtually by WBCUtah team member instructors utilizing an engaging slide deck and include videos, open discussion, group exercises, breakout sessions, dynamic guest experts and  Q&A. Informal group debriefs allow participants to reflect upon recent lessons and principles learned and have time to talk openly about their challenges, successes, “aha moments” and more. Typically, 3-hour deep dive lessons are on Tuesday mornings from 9am – 12pm and debrief sessions are to be determined.

Mentors add value to their experience by encouraging, advising, guiding and coaching their mentee to ensure they understand new concepts and can successfully complete and implement project assignments to viably improve their business. Participants may choose their own mentor or the WBCUtah will provide them with the most ideal mentor possible based on their industry, challenges and/or aspirations.

“I loved being a part of WBC’s Next Step program! The program helped me understand financials, solidify processes, and know how to create a company culture. That way as I grow, my employees will know exactly what to expect and what to do in my company. If you think you may benefit, please do it. If you’re too busy, make time; if you’re company isn’t big enough, this will help you grow it. This will give your business the foundation it needs to stand on to grow, expand, and florish. I am forever grateful to the people who have made this possible.” – Stacey “The Loan Lady” Van Roosendaal, owner Sundance Lending

“It is better than you expect. Things that you put on the back burner because it will take too much time or you just don’t know how to do it, get done through this program. Plus, you build incredible connections and a list of resources from those who have gone before you or who are in the same place as you. You also get to give what you know as well. All around an amazing program that was such a gift!” – Jamie Rowley, owner Kairos Billing Solutions
